I suppose I got my start much the same as any other photographer ... I took photo in high school, followed it after graduation, switched from film to digital, and after spending a couple of years in one of Illinois' top studios I decided to start up on my own.

As an independent photographer I can offer a lot of distinct advantages. Most important of these being the personal attention. No secretary, no message service, no run-around.

Also, delivery time is drastically reduced. Your online proofs are usually up in a couple days at most. Weddings can take a day or two longer. Wedding albums are normally in-hand within a month.
